What's it Like to Live in Newark?

"Newark is a calm, relaxed town. Our diverse neighbors are very kind to each other and there is not too much drama/danger among us. Located close to San Francisco and the Silicon Valley, there is opportunity all around the town for prospective students to pursue. Even though there isn't a lot of "action" per se, all the essentials - groceries, restaurants, churches, schools, recreation places, and more - are present and fit well with the relaxing atmosphere of our little town. However, with regards to housing, houses can get rather expensive in Newark; and with regards to Newark's schooling, NUSD (Newark Unified School District) gets the job done but the administration and school culture can be a little rough at times. For those who are okay with living a little lowkey and those who can handle the tough housing market here, Newark is a solid place to reside." -

Newark is committed to providing quality education, with schools focused on academic excellence and community involvement. The Newark Unified School District serves the city, offering a range of educational programs and extracurricular activities for students.
