What's it Like to Live in Belmont?

"Belmont is where I have lived for my entire life up until college. It's location in the middle of the San Fransisco Bay Area makes it a great place to grow up as you are 30 minutes away from two major cities and have a great sense of community with your neighbors and people you see. In addition to its location, the academic environment is high-achieving which can serve as a motivator for students to push themselves to do their best but can also lead to feelings of low self-worth. That, in addition to its diversity and housing prices, are just some things that I think could be improved.

When I was graduating, my graduating class demographics were 50% White and 37% Asian. Now attending San José State, I am able to see how more diversity in our populations could improve the community. Additionally, I think housing prices have become too high for anyone to live in the Bay Area. Moving out of Belmont for college helped me see just how lucky I was to live in this area of California." -
